This 19th Century Primitive Blanket Chest is made from solid cedar boards and square cut nails. It is unfinished both inside and out. I included pictures of what the chest looked like when I found it. I made repairs to the top with new cedar boards, again, see pictures to see new lighter color wood where repairs were made. The chest has beef sanded to 220 grit and still retains all of the beautiful attributes of a chest over 100 years old.
The side handles are original cast iron. This is a fantastic find and a very rare surviving solid cedar chest. This piece will add country elegance to any room. The item "19th Century Primitive Solid Cedar Blanket Chest, Square Nails, Repair To Top" is in sale since Saturday, September 19, 2020.
