I have up for sale a very nice True Vintage circa 1880s - 1890s or there abouts Saratoga Type Humpback Steamer Trunk. Attic Fresh direct from the original family.

Has nice original green paint as you can see and original interior compartments but missing the tray. The trunk measures approx 36" long , 26" tall at the apex , and approx 20 deep. These are obviously outside dimensions. The trunk weighs approx 60 lbs as you see it.

It is in Good Vintage Condition - normal age and use wear as you can see from the pics. Was stored away in a nice clean and dry attic. I simply dusted it off and wiped with an oily cloth. Has the some interior compartments but missing the tray. Besides some normal wear , there are a few somewhat minor issues.

I found the key and the lock works just fine, since then I also found some old round head screws and re- attached the receiver part/ the upper section of the lock unit. There are some additional holes up in the area , not sure why but noted. Pics of this are shown. The leather handles are missing as you can see from the side pics. The lady who owned this is in her 90s and kept everything meticulously clean.

There are some wrinkles in the metal covering of the trunk as noticed in the pics. At some time in the past someone did a little re-enforcing by adding two boards to the inside. If you need pics of this , simply request them in the "My Messages". One board is directly behind where the lock is and the other on the other side. The fabric piece that keeps the lid from falling back when opened is missing, this is very easy to replace. The outside latches do not want to stay locked, they tend to fall down to their unlocked position. The inside latches work just fine, when locked they stay in place.

This is an old trunk - the inside latch has a patent date of 1888 I believe, so its approx 125 years old. It has age and use wear commensurate with age but with this said, it was well maintained. Please be patient as I live a long ways from them and depending on how busy they are it may take 3 - 4 days before they fill my order.

UPON RECEIVING THE ITEM - ONLY THROW OUT THE BOX AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM AND ARE HAPPY THAT THERE ARE NO DAMAGES. SAVE THE BOX AND ALL PACKAGING , YOU WOULD NEED PICS OF THE OUTER BOX AND INNER BOX , AND PICS OF THE DAMAGED ITEM. THIS IS PART OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN IT COMES TO DAMAGE. I PACKAGE TO THE VERY BEST OF MY ABILITIES BUT SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPEN THAT ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL.

I list my items as thorough and as honestly as I can - but it is the buyers responsibility to be informed as possible.
