The second one is more of an Americanized version, but I tend to like the German translation of the first. Its a BEAUTIFUL gift and such labor and skill was put into the painting and building of this wedding trunk. It seems to be made of pine or a lighter weight wood. It isnt a heavy piece. The first photo shows the colors the most accurately. The feet are crudely cut and hexagons in shape, seem to be original. The hinges are ORIGINAL to the trunk. They were touched up to protect them from further harm. The small box inside the trunk was for jewelry, writing instruments or such.
This one had a small mother of Pearl pen and lace hankie in it & comes with the trunk! Please feel free to ask any questions! Please consider the photos as part of my description!
