This trunk was found in a grand Southern estate. I don't know the age or maker, but it belonged to a family of means by the Mississippi river. It would make an excellent restoration candidate. It measures 35" wide, 26 3/4" Tall , and 22 deep. The exterior hinges are in great shape, and the construction is solid.
Some of the interior hinges have mostly deteriorated, and there are scuffs from use and storage. Also, the latch doesn't work because it looks like it was pried open. All of this could be addressed by someone familiar with these.
Since I know very little about these, I'll leave the analysis to the experts. This piece will make a great addition to your collection. As you can see, it is in average shape for it's age.It is in just out of storage condition, and has not been cleaned or reconditioned. Since I'm not an expert on these, please be sure to see scans to evaluate condition. Please note that it is used and it does have imperfections and wear associated with use. Please contact me if you have questions or would like to see additional scans.
