The lid hinges close just slightly "off-center, " but the trunk does close and latch securely with care. Can't see a maker's mark, but labels (where legible) indicate travel to NY, so assume it is of American origin. Overall, a very refinish-able project, and a fine example of dome-topped steamer trunk originals! GENERAL NOTES: Some people who "watch" items forever would be better off to use the "ask a question" option and make an offer. Likewise, I offer frequent markdowns (on individual items) as well as "quantity discounts" on BIN orders of 3+ items.
If an item is not currently on "markdown" please don't hesitate to make fair offers/best offers because we can always negotiate; however, WHEN AN ITEM IS ALREADY MARKED DOWN, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE BEST OFFER FEATURE LIGHTLY. This isn't "Pawn Stars" and I won't accept offers of "half of the BIN price" when that BIN has already been marked down 15% or more. That being said, if you do make an offer on an already marked-down price, please keep in mind that my counter-offer is generally final the first time I make it.
