If you want a restored silver trunk, this might be the one you want. This trunk has has been completely redone. It is a brilliant silver tin style and is a solid historic piece. Its circa 1890's and has the nice ornamental tin. I believe the late 1800s had some of the most artistic style trunks. This Weave ornamental tin is pretty cool.
Even the latches are interesting. They look like a globe or something, with the release on the side. Ive taken pictures in light and shade because the silver is hard to photograph. The silver is NOT blotchy or inconsistent in any areas. It is sharp and brilliant.
The Interior was stripped of the original paper, then wood bleach cleaned twice. Then sanded 60 and 220 grit. The Exterior was stripped with a metal drill brush. Then the entire trunk was wood bleach cleaned.
The Slats were sanded and golden oak stained. Then the metal was painted in Rustoleum Silver and Black. Then everything but the silver was polyurethaned. Fyi the rustoleum silver is a metallic that dulls with the polyurethane. Then silver highlights were added to the hardware.
Plus this has the original Tray which has had the same processes. Also this trunk has new solid leather handles attached. So in a nutshell, if you like the sharp silver look, and want a clean quality storage trunk, then you will not be disappointed. My feedback shows my buyers have loved their trunks. Any serious questions are welcome.
