Vintage Early 1900's Mendel-Trunx Wardrobe Style Steamer Trunk. Plate on top: Mendel Drucker Cincinnati, No. 172140, Mendel Trunx and a sticker on the front panel: MendelTrunx Steel Gard. Im guessing from researching similar trunks by the same company that it was manufactured somewhere in the early 1920s or 1930s. One side has 4 pull-out draws and the other side is a hanging closet with pull-out extendable rods and 7 various style wooden hangers and 5 small metal hangers.
There is a cloth curtain(Not in great shape) that covers this section. All of the hangers are original, I believe and are included with trunk. The over-all condition of the exterior and interior of this trunk is good.It does, obviously show some wear and tear, but certainly within what would be considered "Reasonable", given its age. Every feature of this trunk is functional and I have the key for the the large clasp-type lock on the front. Unfortunately, I do not have the key for the lock that locks the interior drawers. A real piece of history! Extremely functional and beautifully crafted through-out.
