With original wrought iron hardware! This exceptionally well-preserved early 19. Carriage trunk is overflowing with charm and character!

Handmade in the East Coast, this gorgeous trunk is crafted from nutmeg-brown wood and evenly patinaed, hand-wrought iron hardware! The trunk bears "AH" stamped onto the lid, likely the original owner's initials!

The piece is fully lined by newsprint, which is likely original to the piece. Trunk was made by Washington Sweetser of Portsmouth NH, as stamped over the original newsprint lining. The gorgeous handles and locking mechanism appear original to the piece.

The hinges appear recent to the piece. This carriage trunk is in EXCELLENT condition. I have not made any repairs or improvements on this item. The trunk shows light to moderate wear and no major damage or flaw to the wood. As stated above, the hinges are likely late 20th/early 21st c. The lock latch is no longer attached to the piece.

The wood has a brilliant luster and it is exceptional in its presentation. Your item will come from a pet and smoke-free home. If you are not satisfied, please let me know and allow me the opportunity to make it right. Thank you for looking and I look forward to having your business! It is your responsibility to return the item to me in the same condition it was sent to you.
